Staff Engineer Intern | Chicago
The Staff Engineer Intern position is a full-time, in-person opportunity for students currently pursuing a degree in civil or structural engineering. Interns work as part of a project team under close supervision, supporting structural analysis, development of calculation packages, preparation of drawings and details, and construction administration tasks. The role provides hands-on exposure to real project work across our market sectors and is designed to build the technical foundation that supports growth into a full-time structural engineering role.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Completion of at least one year of college level technical courses in structural engineering.
Completion of steel design, concrete design, and structural analysis courses is preferred.
Familiarity with structural analysis programs such as ETABS, SAP200, RISA, RAM, or Enercalc a plus.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and eagerness to learn.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Personable, team player, and high integrity.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet shifting deliverable deadlines.
Compensation
The hourly pay rate for this position is $28-$32. The pay rate is based on factors such as geographic location, experience, education and skills.
