CSU Northridge Student Union & Performing Arts Center
PARADIGM participated in the structural design of the theater and student services building. The 930 seat theater possesses tiered seating surrounding the main stage. One of the challenges with this particular theater was the requirement for larger than normal proscenium loading requested by the school. This necessitated a proscenium truss more substantial than frequently designed.
The Student Services Center is a two story and partial three story structure housing typical student services. These buildings were constructed prior to the 1994 Northridge Earthquake and post earthquake, the school complimented our design for it's structural performance during the earthquake. Immediately adjacent to the Student Services Center, a parking garage not designed by the firm, collapsed.
