Elysa grew up near Chicago and vividly remembers being fascinated by the skyscrapers and city layout when she would go on the city’s famous Architectural Boat Tours. After learning about the engineering and physics behind these artistic structures, she fell in love with civil engineering. She also credits her passion for buildings and structures to spending slightly too much time on Minecraft when she was younger. From bridges to buildings, the engineering of it all motivates her to expand her knowledge and design professionally in the near future.

Elysa loves to be active, whether that be going to the gym, riding her motorcycle, or traveling across the world. She also likes to be flexible with her time, so she can prioritize catching up with friends, trying new restaurants, going to concerts, or binge-watching Game of Thrones far too many times.
