Marin Health & Wellness Campus

San rafael, california

LEED Certification requires nearly every member of a building team to consider alternate “green” solutions. Working with the city and architect, PARADIGM utilized value engineering concepts to allow for the implementation of alternative solar energy infrastructure within the campus.

The renovations and retrofits for six wood frame and concrete buildings were designed to strengthen the buildings in the event of an earthquake, allowing for higher levels of safety and less building damage.

In addition to seismic evaluation and strengthening, major components of the project included master planning and interior design. New interior build-outs were constructed to improve work flow among doctors and clinicians, as well as to increase client and doctor privacy without decreasing patient comfort of compromising utility. The building was certified LEED Gold in 2009.
